PETA Wants Psych Eval
If you ever wanted to see when the line between beliefs and disconcerting fantaticism is crossed by someone getting a 20 foot running start you got to see it when the animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) sent a letter to NFL commish Roger Goodell that former Falcon QB Michael Vick should undergo a psych eval prior to returning to the league. No really.
Vick, as we all know, is serving a prison sentence for his role in a dog fighting ring--and by role I mean he funded the damn thing--and it is believed that some team that is in dire need of a PR headache will give this guy a look. Well, that does not sit too well with PETA Prez Ingrid Newkirk.
"Saying sorry and getting his ball back after being caught enjoying killing dogs in hideously cruel ways for many years doesn't cut it.
Commissioner Goodell knows that he has an obligation to the league and to millions of fans, including children... to make sure Michael Vick is mentally capable of remorse before he can touch, let alone wear, an NFL uniform again."
Mentally capable of remorse in order to wear a uni again? Does she watch the NFL? These guys try to kill one another and then celebrate it--never mind the crap that goes on off the field.
