Thursday Morning Quick Hitters
The Maine Black Bears dropped another hard fought game, this time to Vermont 75 - 65. Houlton's Mark Socoby led all scorers with 20 points, hitting a couple long bombs, well behind the 3 point stripe.
Gorham's own Bob Crowley, the latest winner of CBS TV's Survivor, will be at the Alfond tonight before the Black Bears Men's game vs UMass Lowell tonight. The University of Maine is asking for donations to the American Red Cross during Crowley's visit.
After a sluggish start, the Boston Celtics bench, sparked by Eddie House and Big Baby Davis, slammed the Sacramento Kings 119 - 100. House led all scorers with 28 points, including 8 - 9 from 3 point range.
