"A Moment in Time" equals an "Eternity of Hate"

I am not a curmudgeon. I am not old, I am not cranky, and I like to feel like I can understand things. I love sports, and I will continue to watch. However there is one thing in this world that makes me want to throw it all away by snapping and breaking everything around me. It is the newest phenomenon known as the "Sports Music Medley", which is now prevalent in every major sporting event. Today CBS played a medley of highlights for the 2008-09 season (even teams that did not make the Tournament, like Davidson) to the ear numbing jingle "A Moment in Time". I would rather strip naked and lock myself in my freezer than watch a sports medley with that Star Search wannabe jingle blaring in the background. It is the same thing as when ESPN does a music contract with someone and promotes a band during top ten highlights. Make it stop. Make it go away. If I wanted to hear music I would listen to my IPod. I want sports, not Guitar Hero and hip-hop. That is the end of my rant. I leave you with a headline from CBS Sports yesterday, more of which you can read here.
