- Andrew Ference stands by his vote to ouster NHL Players Association Executive Director Paul Kelly. The Boston Bruins had a team meeting yesterday, apparently there is growing player unrest with how the firing was handled. Former Bruins great Brad Park and current Bruins Mark Recchi have harsh word for Ference and the players that were in the meeting who voted to fire Kelly. Paul Kelly Attorney responded.
- David Ortiz hit his 2nd half leading 24th (25 overall) HR to help lead the Boston Red Sox to a 9-2 win over KC.
