Treister to Start For Black Bears, Smith Out
According to the Maine Campus, Maine QB Warren Smith is done for the year with a broken foot suffered in the James Madison game this past week.
“Warren is out for the year,” UMaine coach Jack Cosgrove told the Campus. “He has a broken foot that was discovered in another X-ray. It was what they call a weight-bearing X-ray. The post-game X-ray did not show what the weight-bearing X-ray yesterday showed.”
This means sophomore QB Chris Treister, who has been waiting patiently for his shot to play, will finally get his chance starting with this weekend's game against Rhode Island.
