Lowell Trade Precursor to a Beltre or Johnson Signing for #RedSox?
According to the shortest man in baseball media, the Rangers and Red Sox have agreed on a deal (pending medical reports and such) that would send Mike Lowell to Texas in exchange for catcher Max Ramirez, who, as Rangers pitcher CJ Wilson told me on Twitter, "Once got trucked by Torii Hunter and then threw someone out at third on the same play. Ironman DP!" The Red Sox would obviously eat most of the 12 million dollars left on his contract, as the Rangers have the financial flexibility of Dubai right now. What happens next? Some have speculated that this could be a precursor to an Adrian Beltre signing, but sources have told the CMSB a name to watch is former Yankee/Expo/National/Marlin Nick Johnson, who could be signed on the cheap to play first base, allowing Kevin Youkilis to slide over to third.
