Mike Hazen, the Director of Player Development for the Boston Red Sox, joined us on the Weekend Warm-up this morning to talk Sox. Some of the highlights..
- The organization will be deciding on Casey Kelly's baseball future (pitcher or shortstop) in the "next 7-10 days". Kelly hit under .200 in the AFL, so I am sure most of you can figure out which way this is going to go.
- He feels Lars Anderson's struggles last season might help him deal with adversity in the future.
- Talked about some of the reasons he decided to stay in Boston instead of going to San Diego, citing the "Passion of the Red Sox and Red Sox Nation" as one of the reasons he stayed in Boston.
- He also gave insight into the thought process of hiring Torey Lovullo as the Pawtucket manager in lieu of promoting Sea Dogs manager Arnie Beyeler, and compared AA to AAA.
You can listen to the audio below. Enjoy.
