Yankees Get Granderson, Red Sox Have Interest in Ron Mahay
So far today the New York Yankees have acquired Curtis Granderson in a 3 team deal with Arizona and Detroit. The D'Backs got Edwin Jackson and Ian Kennedy, the Tigers got Max Scherzer, Austin Jackson, Phil Coke, and Daniel Schlereth in the trade. The Red Sox have of course responded to this news with rumors they are interested in Ron Mahay and that they won't meet the price tag on Matt Holliday. In related news the virtual waiting room for tickets to Fenway Park may not quite be as full this season. Oh, and before everyone gets on the Yankees "buying another player" gambit, Granderson is owed around 23-25 mil for the next 3 years of his contract, and his 2010 salary is 5.5 million, or almost a third of what JD Drew is making in 2010.
