Former Portland Pirate Goaltender Mike McKenna returned to Portland Tuesday night with the Lowell Devils and promptly stopped 29 shots to beat the Pirates 2 - 1. The Pirates lone goal came when TJ Brennan scored his 1st AHL goal. Next home game for the Pirates is Friday night when they face the Worcester Sharks.
The Maine Red Claws fell apart in the 2nd half again, losing this time to the FT Wayne Mad Antz 104 - 94. The Claws return home Friday to face Dee Brown's Springfield Armor.
The University of Maine Black Bears Womens Basketball team overcame a 12 point 1st half deficit to to beat the UNH Wildcats 65 - 61. Maine brings home its 1st America East victory of the season. Freshman center Corinne Wellington lead the Black Bears with 18 points in the win.
