#RedClaws Knock Off T-Birds

Morris Almond led the Red Claws (26-17) with 26 points while grabbing seven boards in their 128-111 win over the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (18-27).

Already with a seven point lead (85-78) late in the third quarter, the Red Claws found their grove going on a 17-3 run to close out the frame. Maine cruised through the fourth quarter to take the 17 point win. Maine shot over 55 percent from the floor on 54-97 shooting with eight different players scoring in double figures.

Maurice Ager and Darnell Lazare both contributed with 16 points for Maine while teammate Paul Davis added 15. Kurt Looby added to his blocked shot total with 5, upping his season total to 139. Looby and Sioux Falls are currently neck-and-neck in the race to set a new NBA D-League record for blocked shots in a season. Entering tonight, Looby had 134 while Stiemsma had 137, both surpassing the previous mark of 133. Sioux Falls played at Iowa tonight with Stiemsma picking up two more.

Keith McLeod scored a game-high 34 points for the Thunderbirds on 10-21 shooting while teammate Chad Toppert added 17 and former Red Claw Trey Gilder scored 16.

Maine will continue play on Sunday at 1:00 PM when they host the Springfield Armor at the Portland Expo Building while the Albuquerque will travel to Fort Wayne to take on the Mad Ants on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
