I was perplexed. How in the world was a team that was designed to prevent runs cause so many today in Minnesota? How could a team that was so much better defensively have 3 errors in the same game? Ladies and gentlemen, I know the answer.
Today was Jackie Robinson Day, so all Red Sox players were wearing the #42, which coincidentally, is the number of former Red Sox first baseman Mo Vaughn. Thinking they were honoring Vaughn instead of Robinson, the Red Sox paid tribute to him by playing defense JUST LIKE HE DID!
I'm going to go ahead and make this the official excuse of today's game. You're welcome, Red Sox Nation.
