Just Like Matty Called, Pembroke Prayer Wins the 2010 Ricci
I don't want to be the guy who brags when he wins (it doesn't happen alot), but I have to pat myself on the back here. Earlier today here on The CMSB and on The Weekend Warm-Up, I picked the 2 horse, Pembroke Prayer, to win the 2010 Joseph Ricci Memorial Invitational. After running errands with the wife and daughter (the 5 month old with a cranky teething day), I ran into OTB and placed my bet (I had to go home, I assumed most of the folks in the grandstand didn't want to hear a screaming baby). The results are up, and to my surprise, check out who won:
Results Win Place
1. 2 Pembroke Prayer 16.60 7.00
2. 4 Speed Bomb 6.60
3. 6 Hot Shot Blue Chip
4. 1 Slim Down
5. 3 Batalj Launcher
6. 5 Enough Talk
$2 Exacta 2-4 ($79.00)
$2 Trifecta 2-4-6 ($1,875.80)
Congratulations to William Varney, the Maine co-owner and breeder of Pembroke Prayer, for the big win, and to jockey Heath Campbell.
